If you have massive quadriceps and abnormally large lugs or you are a PBR chuggin’ pot belly stoner, this is the race for you. If you are a super tight jeaned, tattoo sleeved, chain-smoking hipster, this is the race for you. If your ride fixed and you ride fast, then please make it out to the Encino Velodrome for the Orange20 Cup on August 22nd at 7:00pm under the lights.
Recommended training regiment: Daily diet of burritos and coffee followed by a cigarette and three pessimistic remarks.
May the best rider win. Winners will have their choice of Chrome bags, Boombotix ultraportable speakers, and much much more. Big thanks to Orange20 for putting this event together.
PedalHard Sacramento is having a fixed gear criterium race on Friday August 17th. In Sactown they keep it flat and fast so get greased up and go full throttle. Come out and support or race!
Last night we saw maximum carnage at the Mezzanine for the Redbull Ride and Style qualifiers. The bean shaped mini velodrome proved to be quite the challenge for even the most seasoned riders trying to exit the corners at top speed. Many of them were ejected from the track…or at least their bike was. Some of the fastest guys figured out how to keep the rubber on the wood and put down some good lap times.
This weekend is the real showdown at Justin Herman Plaza, SF. That is the big square where Market meets the Embarcadero. The famous clock tower where some of our local boys train year round. The event will go from 12-4pm.

Alleycats are one thing, but crashing the LA Marathon course at 3AM to enjoy a car free bike shredding phenomenon is a completely different animal. The Wolfpack Hustle is a race that spans twenty six miles of Los Angeles starting from Tang’s Donuts at 3am. Yes. 3am start. Thank god for donuts and coffee. The race will finish at the beach at Ocean and Montana. By the time that the runners are just getting their shoelaces tied, you will have already mashed the course and downed three cans of PBR.
